Season Guide

The best time to visit Sherkston.

Peak buzz or quiet value? A season-by-season breakdown with rates, so you can choose your week with confidence.

There’s no wrong time to come to Sherkston — but the right time depends on what you’re after. Here’s the season-by-season breakdown, with rates, so you can pick your week with confidence.

Peak summer (July 2 – August 30)

Hot beach days, warm lake water, buzzing energy and Saturday-night fireworks. This is Sherkston at full tilt — ideal for big family weeks and friend groups who want everything open and lively. It’s the busiest and most in-demand window, so book early.

Rates: $1,900 mid-week (Mon–Fri) or $1,700 weekend (Fri–Mon). Golf cart and cleaning included.

Shoulder season (late May – June, and September – October)

Quieter beaches, softer prices, and cottage evenings by the fireplace. Late May and June bring the first warm days and long light; September and October keep warm water into early fall with thinning crowds and Niagara colour. Perfect for couples, girls’ weekends and calm family resets.

Rates: $900 mid-week or $800 weekend — roughly half of peak. See the off-season planner for how to make the most of it.

How to choose

A note on weather

Summers on Lake Erie are warm and sunny, but shoulder-season days can swing cool or rainy — pack a few layers and a rainy-day plan and you’re covered. Either way, the A/C, fireplace and covered deck mean the cottage is comfortable in any forecast.
