Sherkston is a genuinely easy place to bring kids — and the quiet, gated Quarry Meadows side makes it easier still. Here’s a playbook from the families who stay with us.

Why families love Quarry Meadows

• Quiet, gated street. Quarry Meadows 116 has no rear neighbours, so nap times and early bedtimes actually work.
• The golf cart. Toddlers and big kids alike love the rides — and it makes hauling beach gear (and tired little ones) effortless.
• Room to sleep six. A queen master, a single-over-double bunk room the kids claim as their own, and a queen sleeper sofa.

Water safety first

Lake Erie is shallow and warm in summer, but water is water. Children under 13 must wear approved life jackets near the pier, docks and water, and life jackets aren’t provided — so pack your own. No diving near docks or piers.

Rainy-day plans

The cottage layout has room to spread out, streaming for movie afternoons, and a big kitchen for a baking project. A few families bring board games and puzzles for a no-screens day — it works.

Good to know

The cottage sleeps a maximum of six, and all guests 18+ need photo ID for Sherkston registration. It’s no-pets and no-smoking, which keeps it clean and allergen-friendly for little lungs.
